So Madden is here.... it's football!.. Right guys?...
Okay, yep, it's the same fucking game as last year. Sure, slightly better graphics, ooooh ohh and, on defense, there's this super sweet green target icon that flashes when the ball carrier is in range for you to tackle him, which was such a necessary improvement... but other than that, same fucking game. It's not even worth reviewing, because if you've played any Madden in the past decade you know what you're about to play. Fuck.
I really wanted to have something good to say here, but I mean, I've played every Madden game that's come out, and every year I just take the sodomizing from EA Sports because they know they can give it to me cus I love football and I'm obviously going to play the game like the good little bitch I am. But you know what? This bitch is done taking it*. I hereby make this the official petition to force EA Sports to nullify the exclusivity deal that it has with the NFL, therefore allowing for competition in the football video game world**.
Our good old Corey wrote a great blog about this subject about a month ago, and he pretty much nailed it on the head. Him and I have had this discussion multiple times, and it's always ended the same, with him saying 2K was so much better and EA Sports is bullshit because they don't have any responsibility to improve, and I agree with him and then go to GameStop with my tail between my legs and buy Madden because I can't not have the newest football game. It's disgusting.
But no more. Here is where I make my stand. Madden is bullshit, it needs competition, and I don't understand how it's even constitutional that EA has this douchey exclusivity contract. So basically, even if you don't give a fuck about football or video games, you should still back this movement because you're an American. And EA Sports is basically the worst form of a fascist that we've seen since WWII. So be American, vote for competition and the dismemberment of an evil monopoly that has crushed the hearts of football fans young and old for the past decade. Rock, Flag, and Eagle.
* I'm literally going to play a game as soon as I publish this. I accept that this is a personal flaw.
** I've got no real petition experience, never petitioned before, and I don't think anyone's ever commented on these blogs ever so getting names may be tough here. Basically what I'm saying is, no clue where we go from here. But I've officially declared it a petition, so it's a start. The ball is rolling, and if anyone out there has some petition experience just let us know what to do from here and we'll totally do it.
