Was crazy busy last week and didn't get a chance to post anything, so what better way to get back on track than with a crazy Russian lighting himself on fire before leaping off of a building? I guess this guy is a big stunt dude in Russia who does this a lot? I dunno, but here's the other video from his POV:
Russia is so backwards. Not in the way people usually say backwards, meaning like racist or homophobic or dumb in general, cus we know that's just not true about Russia. No, I mean backwards as in it's literally a backwards version of the way we live life here in the states. You see in the US, we are told that lighting yourself on fire and jumping off a building is a dumb idea. It shows a general disregard for your own safety, possibly projects a self-loathing attitude with suicidal tendencies, you know, those sorts of things. But in Russia? Not only is it fun, it's glorified. I mean think about how much it would suck to live there. Life is so miserable that the best idea of fun is plunging to your possible demise while engulfed in flames.
The best part of the video though is definitely the cops.
Like I was convinced that they were arresting him right there. "Okay, buddy, you've had your fun now we're takin you in." Seemed reasonable, I mean that's definitely how you'd expect it to go down in the states. But Russia? Those cops were just making sure the hero was okay before keeping the papparazzi off him while he was walking it off. It's like they understand the people need him. They all desperately want to light themselves on fire and jump off a building, but he's actually doing it. Everyone is living vicariously through that great man, and the police get it. They must protect him.
Russia, so weird right now.
