Whoa, way cooler/more intense than I expected. I clicked that video thinkin, "meh, I get it, dude's gonna flip a bunch and everyone cheers." Didn't factor in the whole build up where you realize the extent of the demolition your body would have to endure if you were to fail this trick which has never been done before. Those dudes went down HARD, I felt my coccyx (nailed it, first spell) shatter when the one guy just let go and fell directly on his ass. Couple notes here:
1) I guess I was confused by the editing? I mean, I get that it's like an edited segment from a larger episode and there's probably a lot more to see, but was I the only one curious about how quickly they seemed to get out of the hospital? Like was that all one day? It seemed like they'd just get obliterated by a crash and then thrown in the ambulance, where I assume they're storing some sort of bone-mending potion a la Harry Potter because they'd be back out there to watch the other guy destroy himself and eventually wind up in the ambulance, as well. I'm guessing this took place over multiple days, maybe weeks, but I'm choosing to think this all took place in one sitting and that these dudes just weren't gonna let broken bones or impending hospital visits get in the way of them reaching the heights of BMX glory. Determination triumphs over pain any day, remember that, guys.
2) Rough ending for the guy who didn't pull it off, huh? Just zero love or respect from his foe. The other guy basically ruined his life and he didn't even get so much as a high-five-bro-huh combo to acknowledge the battle they'd just gone through. Just tossed to the side like a dick. I get that it was a competition and all, I like the whole "my opponent is my enemy" mentality, but you can't invite him over for a quick selfie or something after? Like, "hey man, neither of us died trying this! I know I beat you but hey we survived this crazy experience together, how bout a picture?" Nope, just go fuck right off and keep working on your back flips, pussy. You want respect you earn it, or fuckin die trying. The fact that you're alive is proof that you didn't give it your all, so stand there and cry like a bitch. You know what? The more I type this, the more in to it I am. Failure = no high five zone. Great rule.
